The Vvaan Movie Review: Force of the Forrest is a fantasy thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra andWas released in theatres on 25 September 2026. The story takes inspiration from Bihars folklore. The belief surrounding Van Devi along with elements of faith, family and the supernatural.
The Vvaan Movie Review: What Is the Story?
The story follows Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra and Mamta played by Tamannaah Bhatia. The couple lives in Mumbai. Has roots in a village called Devanchal.
Rishi is an practical person. He does not easily believe in stories or old beliefs. Things change when he returns to his village and becomes connected to a mysterious forest and the legend of Van Devi.
According to the story the forest has a connection with the village and its people. Rishis decision to enter the forbidden forest brings him face-to-face with things he cannot easily explain.
The film then mixes folklore, mythology, family emotions and fantasy to tell its story.
What Works in The Vvaan Movie?
The Folklore and Setting
The interesting part of the film is its connection with Bihars folklore. The idea of bringing the legend of Van Devi to a Hindi film gives the story a different setting.
The forest, village and religious traditions also help create a world that feels different from the city-based Bollywood story.
Tamannaah Bhatias Performance
Tamannaah brings depth to her character. Her characters personal journey gives the film some of its moments.
Supporting Cast
Actors such as Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari and Sunil Grover also have roles. Some reviews have particularly noted the casting of the supporting characters as one of the films strengths.
What Doesn’t Work in The Vvaan Movie?
The Screenplay
The biggest problem is the screenplay. The film has interesting ideas but they do not always come together smoothly.
The story moves between folklore, family drama, comedy, fantasy and supernatural elements. Because of this the main story can sometimes feel unclear.
Several critics have pointed to the writing and the films difficulty in maintaining a clear direction.
Many Elements
The film tries to do many things at once. Along with its main folklore story it includes comedy, songs, supernatural scenes and family emotions.
Some reviews felt that these different elements take attention away from the idea of the film.
VFX and Visual Effects
The film depends on creatures and fantasy visuals so the VFX are important. Some critics found the visual effects only average. Felt they did not always match the scale of the story.
Sidharth Malhotras Performance
Sidharth Malhotra plays Rishi, a city-based man who’s more comfortable with logic than traditional beliefs.
His performance is watchable. Some critics felt that the character does not give him enough new material to explore.
The Vvaan Movie Music and Technical Aspects
The film has music from composers including Vishal Mishra, Amit Trivedi, Tanishk Bagchi and Sam C.S.
The music supports some of the films dramatic moments although critics have generally not considered the songs a major highlight.
Is The Vvaan Movie Worth Watching?
The Vvaan Movie has an idea at its centre. Its use of Bihar folklore, Van Devi and the mysterious forest gives it an identity that could have made the film stand out.
However the screenplay tries to handle many things at the same time. The uneven pacing mixed genres and some technical limitations make the experience less effective than the basic idea suggests.
If you enjoy folklore, fantasy and supernatural stories the film may be worth exploring. If you are looking for a written thriller with a simple and focused story the film may not work as well for you.

The Vvaan Movie Review: Final Verdict
The Vvaan starts with an idea but does not always make the most of it.
The combination of Bihar folklore, Van Devi, family emotions and fantasy gives the film something. The performances and setting also have their moments.
The story becomes crowded and the screenplay does not always keep these different elements together. In the end the films concept is more interesting, than its execution.
For viewers who enjoy folklore-based fantasy films it could be an experience. For others the uneven storytelling may be the problem.
